Job Description:
You will lead one of the largest Science and Technology departments in a European museum. Managing important international collections, your key responsibilities will include:

- Leading and developing a team of 13 people
- Setting strategic direction for the future development, interpretation, organisation and preservation of the Science and Technology collections
- Managing the department’s contribution to the development of six Science and Technology galleries for National Museums Scotland’s Masterplan project, as well as the National Museum of Flight Project.
- Ensuring the development of the department’s research programmes
- Representing National Museums Scotland and the collection on a national and international basis
Required Skills:
Demonstrating strong strategic leadership and management skills, you will be degree qualified or equivalent and have a proven track record of achievement within Science and Technology. Direct experience of managing the interpretation of collections combined with management ability will be critical.
