Leeds Museums and Galleries seeks to appoint an enthusiastic Assistant Curator with a specialism in entomology to assist us in delivering the Museums Association Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund ‘Dead Inspiring’ project.

The Assistant Curator will support the care, curation and interpretation of this important part of our Designated Natural Science collection as well as facilitating access to it for a wide range of audiences. In particular to Assistant Curator will help promote the women in science agenda by engaging girls and young women with the entomology collection, including working with volunteers. We are specifically looking for someone who will be able to inspire young women to embrace science and entomology and help them take their study of this subject further post-GCSE.
The post holder will work closely with the Curators of Natural Science and with colleagues across Leeds Museums and Galleries to maximise the impact of our collections and the experience of our audiences.

This post is funded by the Museums Association Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund and is a fixed-term appointment for 3 years.
