Reporting to the Director, the role holder is responsible for the management of the Learning Team which delivers the Garden's adult education programme, horticultural learning, community projects, outreach activities, schools' programme, HE and FE learning and family event activities.
The role holder will devise, support and contribute to the delivery of learning programmes for schools, colleges and universities and for the general public through life-long learning and recreation.
The role carries responsibility for design and delivery of the entire education and widening participation programme at the Garden.
The team currently delivers over 60 adult education courses and workshops, and facilitates over 400 school visits (both assisted and unassisted) per year.
The role-holder will have direct responsibility for the organisation of the adult education programme, oversight of interpretation throughout the Garden and is a member of the Garden's senior leadership team, contributing to general strategy discussions and supporting the Director in the delivery of the Garden's targets.
